The Pixel Watch 3 is quite similar to the Google Pixel Watch 2 in many aspects. It still has features of Google’s unique teardrop rounded screen and comes in a 41mm size.

However, there have been several changes this year. The screen is now brighter than ever, reaching up to 2,000 nits. Additionally, a larger 45mm version called the Watch 3 XL is now available, and the Pixel Watch 3 runs on Wear OS 5.

One notable improvement is the screen, which Google claims has its most advanced Actua displays yet, with a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and the ability to go as low as 1 nit.

The 41mm Pixel Watch 3 has 10% more screen real estate than the Pixel Watch 2 due to thinner bezels, while the 45mm version has 40% more screen space.

Both watches have 60Hz refresh rates and are said to be more power efficient than last year’s model. The overall design remains very similar to the Pixel Watch 2, with a single crown button and teardrop display.

The Pixel Watch 3 XL has a 35% larger battery to accommodate the bigger screen, but both watches still only last 24 hours with the always-on display enabled.

We can extend the battery life upto 36 hours by enabling the Battery Saver mode.

The Pixel Watch 3 comes with a variety of new and improved features in addition to the great capabilities and third-party apps available on Wear OS.

One of the new features is a set of health tools designed for runners. These tools use machine learning to track metrics like vertical oscillation, cadence, and stride length. The data is displayed in a new running dashboard unique to Fitbit.

The Pixel Watch 3 now includes a Fitbit Morning Brief, similar to Garmin’s Morning Report, as well as two new metrics: Cardio Load, which tracks heart rate trends during training, and Target Load, which helps set training goals.

The running dashboard allows you to plan workouts by setting intervals and warm-ups on your phone and sending them to your watch.

Fitbit’s Daily Readiness Score has been enhanced with a new algorithm that monitors key biometrics to provide a single score indicating your energy levels for the day.

A low score suggests it may not be the best time for a long run, while a high score means you’re good to go.

It can also link with your Google Pixel phone for various functions like call screening, notifications, messaging, camera control, and more.

It can even be used as a remote for Google TV and interface with the Google Nest hub, making it a seamless part of the ecosystem.

A new feature called Loss of Pulse Detection can detect when your heart stops beating and automatically contact emergency services or share your location with a message.

In addition to connecting to multiple GPS networks for better fitness tracking accuracy, the Pixel Watch 3 offers access to Fitbit’s health and fitness tools, including a six-month free trial of Fitbit Premium.
